Abstract

This article examines the linguocultural features of color adjective lexemes in English and Uzbek languages from a comparative perspective. It is argued that the semantic field of color terms goes beyond the physical perception of colors and reflects the cultural worldview, national mentality, and value system of each linguistic community. The study analyzes key color terms such as “white/oq,” “black/qora,” “red/qizil,” and “green/yashil,” focusing on their symbolic meanings, usage in phraseological units, and connotative properties in both English and Uzbek cultures. Furthermore, the research highlights the metaphorical extension of color lexemes, their role in shaping cultural stereotypes, and their function as linguocultural codes. The findings contribute to identifying both universal and culture-specific features of color conceptualization in the two languages.
