Abstract
This article examines the integration of the competency-based approach and digital technologies in mother tongue education. In the context of modern education, it is increasingly important to develop not only students’ theoretical knowledge but also their ability to apply knowledge in practical situations, think independently, communicate effectively, and use digital tools appropriately. The study explores the pedagogical potential of digital technologies in developing students’ communicative, linguistic, information, and digital competencies in mother tongue lessons. Particular attention is given to interactive tasks, electronic texts, multimedia resources, and digital learning materials. Based on international research, the article analyzes the relationship between digital competence and language learning outcomes, as well as the potential benefits of combining competency-based learning with digital technologies. The findings suggest that purposeful integration of digital tools can increase student engagement, support independent learning, and strengthen the practical orientation of language education.
