Abstract
This article examines the psychological aspects of the development of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease in older adults. The study analyzes changes in memory, attention, thinking, and other cognitive functions that occur during the disease and their impact on daily functioning.
Particular attention is paid to psychological changes associated with anxiety, depression, apathy, behavioral changes, and reduced social activity. The importance of family support, social environment, and psychological assistance in maintaining the psychological well-being of older adults is also discussed.
